Seizing Freedom

Seizing Freedom is a podcast, hosted by historian Dr. Kidada Williams, exploring the post-Emancipation Black history from the voices of those who experienced it. I created an engagement plan for history educators about resources and strategies for teaching the Reconstruction era.

As a part of the plan, I wrote event copy as well as radio & TV promos. I also created an interactive Google map for each season, highlighting places and events mentioned in the podcast. It is featured on the New American History website and is used across the country to teach history and geography. When Civic Season included Seizing Freedom in its inaugural year, I wrote the e-blast for our local history partners.
